Favorite Quote of the Week

In journalism class, every week we have a “quote of the week.” The reason we have these quotes is because they teach us lessons. Our favorite quote is “when anger rises, think of the consequence.” This is a very important quote. It teaches you to not get in trouble in life. We like this quote because when you get angry and you don’t think about what is going to happen, you end up doing something that gets you in big trouble and you will end up regretting later. If somebody talks about your mom, picks on you, or bullies you, tell a teacher instead of hitting them. Think of the consequence, don’t let your anger rise.

A NEW AGE

James Harden and Dwight Howard joined forces in 2013 when singed with the Houston Rockets during the 2013-2014 off-season. When Howard joined the Rockets roster it was like Dwayne Wade and LeBron James in Miami. The Rockets have been putting up big numbers when two super stars cam together and lit things up in their games. Earlier in the 2013-2014 season, the Rockets had lost twice in a row to the Sacramento Kings. The third time playing them, the two All-stars knew what they had to do, and they beat the Kings 119-98.The Rockets had the confidence for these elite teams in their path.

2013-2014

The Houston Rockets are in 5th place in the Western Conference and their record is 33-17 with more young stars like Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons. Harden has been putting up big numbers, he has been averaging 23.8 points per game, while Howard has been averaging 18.6 points per game.

Why the Golden State Warriors are my favorite NBA team

These are four of the Warriors' best players.

These are four of the Warriors’ best players.

My favorite team is the Golden State Warriors. They are my favorite team because they have good players, like David Lee, Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes, and Andrew Bogut.

My favorite player on the Golden State Warriors is Stephen Curry. His height is 6’3” and his weight is 185 pounds, and he is a point guard. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2009. In 2012-2013, Curry made 272 three pointers, which was an NBA single season record. His three-point percentage(.453),he was ranked in third place in the NBA. In one game against the New York Knicks, he scored 54 points in the Knicks’ home stadium. He made 11 three pointers in 13 attempts. They couldn’t handle him. It was a Warriors record,on just 13 three-pointers.In 2012-13, the Golden State Warriors were 47-35 and went to the playoffs. Stephen Curry helped them go to the second round, where they lost to the Spurs in that round. They lost, but at least they were able to win 2 games in the series.

This season, Stephen Curry is having his best year so far. All of his statistics have improved. He is averaging 23.5 points per game, 9.2 assists per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. He is getting more minutes, playing 37.9 minutes per game. Even Kevin Durant said he was “one of the best shooters” in the NBA. The Golden State Warriors are also doing well this season. Their record is 26-17, and they are in second place in the Pacific Division and sixth place in the Western Conference. This season they’re even better than in 2012-2013. They are really improving as a team.
