Is Kobe Back?

IS KOBE BACK ?  Kobe Bryant was hurt in the 2013-2014 basketball season, and his team, the LA Lakers, came in 12th place in the NBA’s Western Conference.

Now that Kobe is healthy, I feel that the Lakers are going to do well. He has two new players on his team: Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer. He had told his team that some way he is going to help them win games.

The Lakers’ record was 0-5 until sunday, when Kobe Bryant scored 21 points. Now their record is 1-5, and writers are saying that if Kobe can do this every game the Lakers can have a bright season. I think that if Kobe can go back to the Shaq and Kobe time, the Lakers can win the finals.

Julius Randle, a power forward who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, was injured in the first game of the regular season. In the second half, he went in for a layup and landed wrong on his right leg. He broke his right leg, and now he his getting surgery and is likely out for the season. I believe Randle was the second best player on the Lakers, and he could have helped the Lakers win this season. Now I think the Lakers are not going to have a good season this year because they lost a key player that can get rebounds, go to the basket and score.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare coming soon

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a first person shooter game that will be released November 4, 2014. You will be able to customize your character however you want.

New Features

If you want to get XP, to level up your player faster, then buy a bag of Doritos. Inside the bag, it will have a code for Double XP to customize your player. When you customize your class in Advanced Warfare there will be over 300 guns that you can use. They will be bringing back prestige tokens. Every time you prestige you will get a token you can use to get Double Xp, Weapon Xp, etc.

In Advanced Warfare, they will be coming back with War, which is a game mode from Call of Duty World at War. They will also be coming back with the ‘infected’, which was in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare will be coming with EXO Survival, which is like a game mode to play with your friends. In EXO Survival mode, every wave will be a gang of enemies and the bonus round is a bunch of ZOMBIES!!!! Advanced Warfare will have a paintball mode, where you will get to play with your peers and random people. You will also have new camos, which are what you put on your gun to camouflage it.They are gonna put camouflage’s like Diamond, Multi cam, Urban, Woodland, Digital Classic, Carbon Fiber, Gold, Royalty, etc. There will also be a tactical nuke, which is a nuclear missile that hits the map and kills everybody except you and your teammates. Light Machine Guns can be dual guns, meaning you can have two Light Machine Guns in your hand at the same time. Advanced Warfare also features a new gun that has a laser in it. It is an overpowered (“OP”) gun that you have to charge before you use. When you use it a lot, it will become overheated and cool down.

Seventh Grade (my version)

My name is Rayjean Otero. I am 11 years old, Puerto Rican and 5’4”. I go to the Eagle Academy for Young Men in the Bronx 3rd avenue. The school was built in a rough neighborhood to allow men of color a chance to learn. This is one of many reasons I love going to Eagle.

Eagle is not only just a school, but a brotherly community. Our school uniform is designed for us to take pride in our work. Every grade has its on specific tie, to represent how much we have learned from 6th to 12th grade. The majority of Eagle Academy students go to college.

I will now talk about how I feel in Eagle feeling-wise. My Eagle brothers make me feel welcomed and loved. If I have a problem, they help me. My teachers make me feel in a comfortable atmosphere to learn and ask questions. I’ve made more friends here than in a playground.

I have a few goals at Eagle. Due to the fact that the teachers put me in a good atmosphere, I expect 90’s for myself. I know for sure I’m going to college. My teacher Mr.West has helped me with writing for a website. Lastly, my science grade went from a 60 to a 90.

In conclusion, I expect more in seventh grade. I have more goals. I want higher grades. This is all thanks to Eagle.

Timberwolves: Rising Stars

I think the Minnesota Timberwolves will be a good young team in the 2014-15 season because they have two fantastic rookies, Andrew Wiggins and Zach Lavine. These two rookies can help the T-wolves at least make the playoffs. These 1st round draft picks have enough talent to improve the Minnesota Timberwolves franchise.

Andrew Wiggins 

Andrew Wiggins is a Canadian basketball player who played for Kansas University. Andrew was the first pick in the 2014 NBA draft. During his college career he averaged 17 points per game, 5 rebounds per game, and at least 1 assist per game. Originally Wiggins was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers, but all of a sudden he was traded to the T-Wolves for their star forward Kevin Love. Now he is playing with the T-Wolves star point guard Ricky Rubio. Now that Rubio’s wing man Kevin Love is gone, Andrew Wiggins can contribute to the Timberwolves’ success.

Zach Lavine

Zach Lavine is an American basketball player who played for UCLA. Lavine was the 13th pick in the 2014 NBA draft. During his college career he averaged 9 points per game, 2 rebounds per game, and 1 assist per game. I think that he will be better than that, because he can shoot and drive the lane and pass and he has a well-rounded game. Lavine was doing amazing things during the 2014 NBA Summer league, and I think he will do better in the regular season.

Minnesota Timberwolves Outlook 

The Minnesota Timberwolves didn’t do too well in the past season. Their record was 40-42. Now that they have Andrew Wiggins and Zach Levine, they can improve their record.  When the T-wolves had Kevin Love they still didn’t do well. But the ”Bounce Brothers” (which is what Wiggins and Lavine are calling themselves now) could become the next Jordan and Pippen, and win a championship.

These are my top  5 Nintendo characters, so if you don’t see your favorite don’t be surprised. Nintendo’s characters were created by Shigeuru Miyamoto. If you’re a Nintendo fan, help support it or join club Nintendo. Now, without further, ado lets get on with the countdown.

5: Captain Olimar

Captain Olimar is a character from a game called Pikmin. This brave explorer is a hard worker who has loyal friends by his side. Captain Olimar’s friends belong to a species known as the Pikmin (also the name of the game!); these tough, feisty friends won’t back down from a fight. Only one thing, Pikmin need a commander in order to fight–and who else to command them than the one and only captain Olimar? With Olimar’s leadership and the Pikmin’s loyalty, the Bulborbs and other creatures don’t stand a chance.

4: Yoshi

Yoshi is a character from the game Yoshi’s island.Yoshi is Mario’s friendly dinosaur friend. He has a frog-like tongue that’s sticky, and he uses it for to eat distant fruit. Yoshi also uses his froglike tongue to eat his enemies. Yoshi can produce eggs that he throws at hard to reach places. He can also hover in the air for a short period of time. Yoshi may be cute and cuddly on the outside, but on the inside he’s tougher than a piece of wood.

3: Link

Link is a character from the game Legends of Zelda. Link is a is a Hyrulian Knight, meaning that he comes from a place called Hyrule.  He goes on dangerous quests to save princess Zelda from the evil Gannondorf, the king of demons. Throughout these quests, Link runs into this old man who gives him weapons or items that aid him throughout him quests. When he helps Link, the old man usually says, with a famous quote; “Its dangerous to go alone, take this.” Some of the items he gives Link include a sword, a shield, a boomerang, a grappling hook. These items help Link solve the puzzles he encounters on his quests.

2: Mario

Mario is a character from the game Super Mario Bros. Mario is an Italian plumber from the mushroom kingdom who saves princess Peach from the evil Bowser. Mario has a brother named Luigi, who is taller than Mario and can jump higher than Mario. Mario wears red, and Luigi wears green. Mario has a small mushroom friend named Toad, and Mario can use mushrooms to grow bigger. There is also this flower called the Fire Flower, that allows Mario to throw fire balls.

Kirby is a character from the game Kirby’s Dream Land. Kirby is a cute little pink puff that lives in a little country called Dreamland, on the planet Popstar. You’re probably thinking, ‘how can an innocent pink puff be a legendary hero?’ Well, Kirby can inhale his enemies and copy their abilities. If you think you can overpower this ball of fluff, think again! Kirby can eat you in less than a second, and can steal your personality forever if he wanted to. Yes, he is that dangerous.

Transformers: how the war began

Cybertron

Cybertron was once a giant machine named Primus who fought Unicron, Lord of the Undead. When he defeated Unicron by blasting him into another part of space, he was critically damaged in the fight. He used the last bit of his energy to transform himself into a planet called Cybertron. He had enough soil to make unlimited races of transformers. He used his energy to make a resource called Energon so the machines can live off it.

The Quistasons

The Quistasons were the first people to ever build the machines who now roam Cybertron. They were dictators, and forced the robots to do their bidding. Unfortunately for them, the Quistasons were unaware  that their creations would develop feelings and start fighting back. The robots grabbed their weapons, and had enough power to exile the Quistasons for the rest of Cybertronain history. These intelligent robots are known as Transformers.

Alpha Trion

Alpha Trion led the rebellion against the Quistasons. Alpha Trion is sometimes known as the father of the Cybrtronains. It took him years to fix Cybertron and give some of his natural resources to the people who desperately needed them. A couple of years after the incident, the bots thought of becoming a democracy and gave Alpha Trion the Matrix of Leadership. This made him leader of the Cybertronians.

The Autobots

The Autobots are a group that wants peace on Cybertron. They are known for how courteous they were to people, how smart they were with decisions and how loyal they were.

The Decepticons

The Decepticons are a group of conquistadors that don’t care about others’ approval and want to control everything in  the universe.

The War

Orion Pax, a librarian, saw Megatron’s evil ways of trying to convince everyone on Cybertron that they should be an autocracy and to gain control of other planets to steal their natural resources. When Zeta Prime passed away, they made Orion Pax the new leader of the Autobots. At first Orion Pax thought he wasn’t ready for the burden. First of all,  he had to learn about Cybertron’s past. Orion Pax put himself into stasis lock in order to travel through the matrix to learn about Cybertron’s  history.

The Dinobots: Grimlock, Swoop, Slug, and Snarl.

When the Autobots found out he was in stasis lock, Bumblebee told Percepter to immediately work on Orion Pax to be fixed so he can be functional. All of a sudden, Megatron and his army of Decepticons ambushed the Autobots. When Orion Pax woke up, he tried to stop Megatron but failed. Megatron shot him before he had the chance to stop him. Megatron forced the Autobots to give him the energon. When Alpha Trion came to see what all of the commotion was about, he was surprised when the Autobots desperately needed his help. They wanted Alpha Trion to fix Orion Pax. Alpha Trion took him into his factory to fix him. When he was finished in the next two hours, Alpha Trion recreated Orion Pax and changed his name to Optimus Prime. Optimus thanked the Autobots for helping him with his pain. Then Optimus told the Autobots to make a ship called ” The Ark” so they could leave their dying planet and go to another to get raw energon. Even though they were leaving, they knew Megatron would hunt them down and try to obliterate them.

Camel Spiders

Camel spiders are spiders that are pretty big. They are called camel spiders because they live in the desert. Camel spiders can be found in Iraq, in the middle east. Camel spiders are also found in Mexico, where they call them man-eaters.

Camel spiders can move up to 10 miles per hour. Camel spiders are carnivores, meaning they eat meat. Their bite is painful, but not as painful as a scorpion’s sting. Camel spiders are not venomous. Camel spiders can jump as high as three feet–that is pretty high!

Camel spiders don’t have sweat glands. The camel spider is also known as the wind scorpion, the sun spider, and the wind spider.  There are 900 species of camel spiders. Camel spiders are always brown. The males are always smaller than the females, with longer legs.

This is proof that camel spiders are carnivores–here is a camel spider eating a frog.

Camel spider stories began to spread during the 1990-91 Gulf War war in Iraq. People say they are large like a frisbee, but they’re wrong; they are about the size of a cigarette pack. People say camel spiders can eat cats and dogs. People also say you should feed scorpion to camel spiders.

I think camel spiders are creepy. My teacher Mr.West hates spiders. You should try not to mess with a camel spider, because they would bite you.
