Yankees have one of their best teams in a while

by Alex Santos

The Yankees have a wonderful team in the year 2015; I say this because with the new players that manager Joe Girardi has picked, like closer Andrew Miller and outfielder Ramon Flores. I also think that they have a really good team because first baseman Mark Texeira and DH Alex Rodriguez (also known as ARod) have been big hitters this year.

Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller are the Yankees' two great closer.

Bullpen

The Yankees’ bullpen has been very good in 2015. Andrew Miller has been one of the best closers that I have seen in a long time besides Mariano Rivera, though he has been injured for a while. Setup man Dellin Betances has been putting on a show for Yankees fans, filling in at closer and throwing 99-100 mph. Chasen Shreve has also been a big part of the Yankees bullpen, because in certain situation he has come up really big.

Defense

The Yankees’ defense has been a big part of their success this season. The defensive lineup helps their bullpen have a better outcome. Here is the defense the Yankees usually put on the field:

C: Brian McCann

1B: Mark Texeira

2B: Steven Drew

SS:Didi Gregorius

3B: Chase Headley

Outfield: Bret Gardner, Roman Flores, Carlos Beltran

The 2015 New York Yankees have a strong lineup.

Batting Order

The Yankees batting order has been very good. It will be even better now that they have outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury coming back from the disabled list, because they will have their leadoff batter back. Ellsbury is also a very good outfielder, which will help out the defense and pitchers. Here is what the batting order should be once he gets back:

Jacoby Ellsbury, CF

Brett Gardner, LF

Alex Rodriguez, DH

Mark Texeira, 1B

Brian McCann, C

Chase Headley, 3B

Stephen Drew, 2B

Ramon Flores, RF

Didi Gregorius, SS

Prediction

For the Yankees to make it to the playoffs, they need to start their number one pitchers against the toughest teams they play and not play around with their bullpen. I think they will make it to the playoffs this season, but not all the way to the championship.
